The words Harmony and Balance go hand in hand with the practice of Feng Shui. The main objective of Feng Shui is to create balanced and harmonious environments, believing that by aligning the energy of the spaces around us, harmony will be reflected in our lives.

In Feng Shui, your home is considered to be a reflection of your inner world and the circumstances of your life. Therefore, transforming the environment where you live or work is the first step towards cultivating balance and well-being.

  1. Do you feel like your life flows smoothly and naturally? Or do you realize that there are many obstacles to overcome to achieve what you want?

If people walk straight to your bedroom or feel confused about where they should go when they enter your home, it’s a sign that the route needs to be adjusted. Take a look at the path from the entrance to the living room or the area where you receive your guests and apply these tips:

  • Eliminates obstructions: Ensures that the path is free of barriers and position furniture to facilitate fluid and natural movement through the different spaces in the house.

Decorative furniture with books, decorative items, a plant and a hanging picture, creating a clean, organized and harmonious environment.

  • Create a focal point: Place something visually appealing, such as a decorative object, a piece of art, or even a brightly colored element, in the main flow of your home. This will naturally guide visitors to the right destination.

  • Use rugs as guides: Place rugs that clearly outline the route and guide people to the desired location, adding functionality and aesthetics to the space.

2. Do you feel imbalance between the different areas of your life?

In Feng Shui, balance is achieved through the harmonization of the five elements of Nature: wood, fire, earth, metal and water . All of these elements should be represented in some way in each environment, reflecting the balance you wish to bring to your life. Here are some practices to apply:

  • Ensure the representation of the five elements: Check if the five elements are balanced in the main rooms of your home. If any element is missing, simply add it. In the case of water, include objects in blue or glass; or in the case of wood , incorporate plants or items in green and brown tones.

  • Balance excess of a dominant element: If an element dominates a room, use the weakening cycle of the elements to restore balance. For example, in a room where blue predominates (excessive water), add wooden elements, such as plants, green decorative objects or cushions with natural patterns, to soften the energy.

  • Extra tip: To reinforce overall balance, use the Yin-Yang symbol, which represents harmonious duality. You can keep it on a keychain, as your phone's wallpaper or framed in a special corner of your home.

3. Is there an area of your life that you find most challenging?

In Feng Shui, the Bagua associates each direction of space with a specific area of life.

For example, if you feel that your career or work is out of balance, take a look at the North area of your home. Here are some tips to harmonize it:

  • Problematic spaces: If there is a toilet or pantry in that area, you can balance the energy by placing an object or image that represents the associated element, in this case water, on the nearest wall.

  • Clutter: If there is disorganization, clean and organize the space, keeping it functional and fluid. This helps to reinforce the natural energy of this direction.

Remember to avoid excess decoration or added elements, keeping the environment balanced and pleasant. 😊
